Troubleshooting

Issue

Solution

Printer is not responding or not printing.

  1. Check all cable connections: Ensure the power cable is securely plugged into the printer and a power outlet. If using USB, ensure it's firmly connected to both the printer and the computer. If using LAN, ensure it's connected to the printer and the router.

  2. Check the LED lights: Refer to the 'Understand Bixolon Printer LED Indicators' section above to see if the printer is showing an error (e.g., solid yellow/orange light).

  3. Restart devices: Turn off the Bixolon printer, your computer, and your POS device. Wait 30 seconds, then turn them back on.

  4. Check paper roll: Make sure the label roll is loaded correctly and there are enough labels.

  5. Reinstall drivers: If the issue persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Bixolon printer drivers on your computer.

Barcodes are not scanning correctly.

  1. Check print quality: Ensure the labels are printing clearly without smudges or faded areas. Clean the printer's print head if necessary (refer to your Bixolon printer manual).

  2. Verify barcode data: Double-check that the barcode numbers in your LabelArtist II design match the actual product barcodes in your StoreHub BackOffice.

  3. Scanner compatibility: Ensure your barcode scanner is properly set up and compatible with your StoreHub POS system.

Chinese characters are not printing correctly.

  1. Follow Step 14 in the 'Design and Print Barcode Labels Using LabelArtist II' section to adjust the font settings in your printer properties to one that supports Chinese characters.

  2. Ensure the font you selected in LabelArtist II also supports Chinese characters.
