Who Is This For?
StoreHub merchants who want to see every promotion type in one place before they build a POS or online campaign.
Overview
This article helps you choose where your promotion should run and which discount type fits your goal. Promotions in BackOffice are powerful, but POS and online orders follow different rules.
For when you sell on the register, see here.
For when you sell on Webstore, Beep Delivery, or QR Order and Pay, see here.
For manual discounts tapped on the till during a sale, see here. This flow is separate from BackOffice promotions.
Before You Begin
You use a StoreHub Advanced or Pro plan.
You can sign in to BackOffice with permission to edit promotions.
You know whether the campaign is for the POS register, for online channels, or both (which requires separate promotion records).
Choose a Promotion Type
Promotion type | What it does | Channels |
Take Percentage Off | Takes a percent off the total bill.
Example: 10% off your whole order |
|
Take Amount Off | Takes a fixed amount off the total bill.
Example: RM 10 off the bill |
|
Buy X Get Y For Free | Customer gets one item free when they buy qualifying items. The lowest-priced qualifying item becomes free.
Example: Buy 1 Get 1 Free |
|
Combo Set, Package, or Bundle | Bundles different products at one package price.
Example: Burger + Fries combo = RM 10 |
|
Override Existing Price | Forces the same product to a new price at a minimum quantity. Buy more, pay less per unit.
Example: Buy 2 cupcakes for RM 10 (normally RM 12 each) |
|
Free Shipping | Waives the delivery fee.
Example: Free shipping for orders above RM 50 |
|
Notes:
Merchants often mix up Take Amount Off, Override Existing Price, and Combo Set.
Take Amount Off discounts the total bill.
Override Existing Price is a volume deal on the same SKU.
Combo Set bundles different products into one package price.
Buy X Get Y For Free gives a free qualifying line when basket rules match.
POS and Online Promotions Are Separate Records
POS promotions and Online Order promotions must be set up as separate promotion records. You cannot combine them into one promotion.
POS and Online Orders run on different platforms underneath, so one promotion record cannot apply to both.
