POS Troubleshooting: How to Manage Your Device Warranty and Repairs

This guide explains how to check your device's warranty and what to do if it needs to be repaired.

Updated over 4 months ago

What You Will Learn in This Guide

  • How to check if your POS device is still under warranty.

  • How to make a warranty claim if your device is less than one year old.

  • What your options are if your device is out of warranty.

  • How to decide between repairing your old device or buying a new one.

Important Notes

  • Your StoreHub POS device has a one-year warranty, starting from your purchase date.

  • We only provide loan units for devices that are under warranty. We do not provide loan units for out-of-warranty repairs.

  • Repairs for out-of-warranty devices can be costly and may not be the most cost-effective option.

Step 1: Check if Your Device is Under Warranty

1. Find the invoice or receipt from when you purchased your StoreHub POS device.

Note:

Don't know your invoice or purchase date? No worries. Contact our Support team and provide the Serial Number (SN) of your device, and we'll be able to help you check.

2. If the purchase date was less than one year ago, your device is IN warranty. Please proceed to the next section (Step 2).

3. If the purchase date was more than one year ago, your device is OUT of warranty. Please skip to the "What to Do if Your Device is OUT of Warranty" section (Step 3).

Step 2: What to Do if Your Device is IN Warranty (Less than 1 year old)

1. Contact our Support team to start a warranty claim. Please provide them with your device details and proof of purchase.

2. Our team will reply to your ticket within 2 business days to guide you on the next steps.

Step 3: What to Do if Your Device is OUT of Warranty (More than 1 year old)

1. If your device is out of warranty, you can send it to us for repair, but please be aware of the time and cost.

2. The repair process can take from 7 working days up to 3–6 weeks. This depends on the problem and if we have replacement parts.

3. Since we do not provide loan units for out-of-warranty repairs, your business will be without a POS device during this time. You can:

a. Record sales and write receipts by hand.

b. Use another device like an iPad temporarily (you will still need to write receipts by hand).

Repair or Buy New? How to Decide (Click to expand)

Because out-of-warranty repairs are costly and take a long time, buying a new POS device is often a better and faster solution. Repairing Your Old Device:

  • Cost: High

  • Downtime: Long waiting period (1 to 6 weeks) where you cannot use the device.

  • Warranty: The repair itself does not come with a new one-year warranty.

Buying a New Device:

  • Cost: You pay for a new device, which can be more cost-effective than an expensive repair.

  • Downtime: No downtime. You get a new device immediately.

  • Warranty: Your new device comes with a fresh 1 or 2-year warranty.

  • Technology: You get the latest, most reliable technology to run your business smoothly.
