How to Migrate to the New iOS StoreHub App

Updated this week

Who Is This For?

StoreHub merchants currently using the old iOS StoreHub POS app who need to switch to the new version.

Overview

The old iOS StoreHub POS app is being phased out. The new app includes features like takeaway support, floor plan table layout, product management from POS, and improved printer support.

This article walks you through both migration methods (manual and in-app guided), migrating your table layout, and setting up the new app after migration.

Before You Begin

  • Your iPad must be 7th Generation or above, running iOS 13.1 or newer.

  • Complete all open orders and close the current shift before starting migration.

  • Tap the 'Sync' button multiple times on your old app to make sure all sales data is uploaded.

  • We recommend performing the migration after business hours to avoid service disruptions.

  • The migration process takes about 5 minutes.

Set Up the New App After Migration

  • After you sign in and activate your register on the new app, finish any remaining setup in the app (for example printers and receipt options). Menus and labels can change between app versions, so use the live Settings screens on your device. For printer pairing, roles, and tests, see this article.

Migrate Your Table Layout (F&B)

If you had a table layout set up on the old iOS POS app, you can migrate it to the new app instead of creating a new one.

Notes:

  • Migrating from the old iOS POS to Android POS is not possible if a table layout has already been set up in the Android POS system.

  • There must be no existing table layout enabled on the new iOS POS app or Android POS.

  • Table layout must be enabled on the old iOS POS app.

There are three ways to migrate your table layout:

Method 1: Re-Activate Register

1. After downloading the new iOS POS app, deactivate the register in BackOffice.

2. Re-activate the register using the new iOS POS app.

3. If successful, a pop-up will appear on your POS saying 'Your table layout is now migrated. Edit Table Layout Now.'

Method 2: Sync in POS

1. In the new iOS POS app, go to 'Settings', then tap 'Table Layout'.

2. Toggle on 'Enable Table Layout'.

3. Tap the 'Sync' button.

Refer to this article for full steps on how to enable table layout.

Method 3: Edit Table Layout

1. In the new iOS POS app, go to 'Settings', then tap 'Table Layout'.

2. Tap 'Edit Table Layout'.

3. A pop-up will confirm that your table layout has been successfully migrated.
