Product Settings: How to Track Alcohol / Liquor Shots Using Composite Inventory

  • Set up your products if you want to track alcoholic beverages by using the Composite Inventory feature.

  • This guide only applies to StoreHub POS, not QR Order and Pay / Beep Delivery.


How to Track Alcohol / Liquor Shots

Scenario

Assume you're selling Tequila in bottle & shots at the same time / only sell Tequila in shots.

Tequila Shots are poured from a Tequila Bottle.

Track your Tequila in Bottle

1. Create a new product (Tequila Bottle) & track under Simple Inventory type.

2. Key in the selling price / set selling price as 0 if you do not sell Tequila in bottle.

3. Set the stock quantity & save to complete the settings.

Example: Bottle is use to track the stock quantity for this case. Track the stock quantity based on the amount you have purchased from the supplier.

Track your Tequila in Shots

1. Create a new product (Tequila Shots), set the selling price & track under Composite Inventory Type.

Note: Select Save before you proceed to next step. The component table appears upon saving.

2. Add components and link to the Tequila Shots product.

Example:

Tequila Shots are poured from a Tequila Bottle. Whenever Tequila Shots are sold, stock deduct from Tequila Bottle.

Based on this example, the Tequila Bottle should be added as the component.

3. Set Default Usage. Default usage refers to the quantity of Tequila needed for a single Tequila Shot.

Example:

1 Tequila Bottle can make 16 shots - 1/16 = 0.063 (Set 0.063 as Default Usage)

With every sale of one shot, 0.063 will be deducted from the Tequila Bottle.

Example:

1 Tequila Bottle = 0.7 L, Stock Quantity = 100 Bottles

Then the Stock Quantity for Tequila Bottle should be 0.7 L x 100 = 70 L

Assume 0.03 L of Tequila is needed for 1 Tequila Shot.

Set Default usage of the component (Tequila Bottle) as 0.03.

With every sale of one shot, 0.03 will be deducted from the Tequila Bottle.

Note:

It is important to ensure the unit use to track Tequila Shots & Tequila bottles are the same.

4. Save to complete the settings.

When you sell 1 shot, this is how it will reflect in the BackOffice for your Tequila Bottle product quantity that you created in Step 1.
