Overview
A Customer-Facing Display (CFD) is a secondary screen that shows your customers what they are ordering, the total amount, and any promotional content.
This article covers how to set up a CFD on Android POS devices with built-in secondary screens, iPad devices using the StoreHub Customer Display app, and the new CFD app with seamless pairing. You will also learn how to add promotional content to your CFD from BackOffice.
Before You Begin
Your main POS register must be activated.
For iPad CFD: StoreHub POS app version 1.6 or above on the main device, and StoreHub Customer Display app version 2.0.3 or above on the secondary device.
For new CFD app: StoreHub POS app version 1.78.0 or above on the main device, and the new StoreHub CFD app version 1.0.1 or above on the secondary device.
Both the main and secondary devices must be connected to the same WiFi network (for iPad and new CFD setup).
Supported secondary devices: iPad 6th Generation or above, or an Android device running Android 8.0 or above.
Step-by-Step Guide
What a CFD Displays
A Customer-Facing Display shows the following to your customers:
Ordered items
Total amount
Store credit balance
Customer information
Promotional images or text (configured in BackOffice)
Set Up CFD on Android POS (Built-In Secondary Screen)
This applies to Android POS terminals that come with a built-in secondary screen.

1. Activate your Android POS Register.
2. The Customer-Facing Display screen will appear automatically on the secondary screen once your register is activated.
Note:
No additional app download is required for Android POS devices with built-in secondary screens. To add promotional images or text, refer to the 'Set Up CFD Content in BackOffice' section below.
Set Up CFD on iPad (Using the Customer Display App)
This method uses two separate devices: your main POS register (iPad or Android) and a secondary iPad or - device running the StoreHub Customer Display app.
1. On your main POS device, make sure the StoreHub POS app is version 1.6 or above.
2. On your secondary device, download the 'StoreHub Customer Display' app from the App Store (iPad) or Google Play Store (Android). Make sure it is version 2.0.3 or above.
3. Make sure both devices are connected to the same WiFi network.
4. On your main POS register, open the StoreHub POS app, go to 'Menu', then tap 'Settings'.
5. Tap 'Customer Display', then toggle on 'Enable Customer Display'.
6. Take note of the IP address shown on this screen (listed in Step 3 of the on-screen instructions).
7. On your secondary device, open the StoreHub Customer Display app.
8. Tap 'Link Manually to IP Address'.
9. Enter the IP address you noted from step 6.
If successful, orders from the main POS register will appear on the secondary device screen.
Notes:
If you switch off your CFD device at the end of the day, repeat steps 7 to 9 the next day to reconnect.
If the CFD app disconnects, tap 'Link Manually to IP Address' and re-enter the IP address from your register.
Set Up CFD Using the New CFD App (Recommended)
The new CFD app offers seamless connectivity. Instead of entering an IP address manually, you can search for and pair devices automatically.
Notes:
The new CFD app takes immediate effect for new merchants only.
Existing merchants who want to switch to the new CFD app should contact the Care Team via Live Chat.
The old Customer-Facing Display app will no longer receive new feature updates.

1. On the secondary device, download the 'StoreHub CFD' app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Open the app and set your preferred device name, then tap 'Continue'.
3. On your main POS register, go to 'Settings', then tap 'Customer Facing Display'.
4. Tap 'Search for Customer Facing Displays'.
Note:
Make sure all devices are connected to the same WiFi network.
5. Your CFD device should appear in the search results. Tap 'Pair'.
6. Once paired, you will see a 'Remove' option next to the paired device, confirming the connection is successful.
Set Up CFD Content in BackOffice (Optional)
Add promotional images or text to display on your CFD when there are no active orders.
1. In your BackOffice, go to the 'Promotions' menu, then tap 'Customer Display'.
2. Tap '+ Add Customer Display Ad'.
Note:
If you already have an existing ad, you can tap on it to edit.
3. Enter a name for your advertisement, then tick the 'Enable' field.
4. Select the store(s) where you want the advertisement to appear.
5. Select the type of content you want to display:
Images: Add promotional posters to create a static image or a slideshow with multiple images.
Text: Type out your promotional message with no visuals.
6. Tap 'Save', then sync your StoreHub POS app.
Notes:
Images should ideally be 400px in height and 600px in width.
Multiple images cycle every 60 seconds.
After 2 minutes of inactivity (no active orders), the image becomes a full-screen screensaver.
Troubleshooting
Issue | Solution |
CFD is stuck on 'Connecting' | Make sure both devices are on the same WiFi network. Restart the POS app and reconnect the CFD. |
CFD not showing orders | Re-open the StoreHub POS app on the main register and reconnect to the CFD. |
CFD screen is blank or frozen | Restart the POS device by holding the power button, shutting it off, then turning it back on. Re-open the POS app and reconnect. |
Cannot find CFD device when searching (new app) | Make sure both devices are on the same WiFi network. Restart both devices and try again. |
Promotional images not appearing | Make sure you tapped 'Save' in BackOffice and synced the POS app. Check that the ad is enabled and assigned to the correct store. |
Images look stretched or blurry | Use images that are 400px in height and 600px in width. |
FAQs
1. Which Android POS devices have a built-in Customer-Facing Display?
Sunmi T2, Sunmi D2, Sunmi D3 Pro and iMin D4 have built-in secondary screens. iMin Falcon 1 and iMin D1 do not support this feature.
2. Can I use an iPad as a Customer-Facing Display?
Yes. Download the StoreHub Customer Display app on a secondary iPad (6th Generation or above) and link it to your main POS register.
3. Do I need to reconnect the CFD every day?
If you switch off the secondary device at the end of the day, you will need to reconnect it the next day by re-entering the IP address (old method) or re-pairing (new method).
4. Can I display promotional images on the CFD?
Yes. Set up your promotional content in BackOffice under Promotions, then Customer Display. Images cycle every 60 seconds and become a full-screen screensaver after 2 minutes of inactivity.
