Scenario

Assume you're selling Burgers. You have single & multiple choice modifiers under the product.

Single Choice Modifier: Patty (Single, Double, Triple)

Multiple Choice Modifier: Toppings (Lettuce, Tomato) - Optional for Customers

Track Ingredients Usage on Burger

1. Create a new product (Burger) & set the selling price.

2. Under Modifiers, tick Has Modifiers & add your modifier options.

Note: Refer to this article for more details on how to setup modifiers.

3. Track under Composite Inventory Type and click Save.

Note:

  • Select Save before you proceed to next step. The component table appears upon saving.

4. Add components to the Burger product.

Example:

For this case, we are tracking Buns, Patty, Lettuce & Tomato. Add these ingredients as the components.

5. Set Default Usage or Usage of Ingredients under each Modifiers.

Default usage refers to the fixed quantity of ingredients needed to produce a burger. The usage of ingredients doesn't change even in the presence of modifiers.

If your product has modifiers, that means the usage of ingredients/component are tracked based on customer's selection. Input the ingredient usage within the modifier options.

Example:

When making a burger, the Bun is a fixed ingredient.

Within a Single Choice Modifier, customers select their Patty, and if they choose Double Patty, 2 Patties will be deducted from the stock.

In a Multiple Choice Modifier, toppings become optional choices for customers.

If a customer opts for Lettuce, 0.01 KG of Lettuce will be used.

If they prefer Tomato, 0.05 KG of Tomato will be used.

Note: To prevent unnecessary stock deductions, refrain from entering Ingredient Usage in both the Default Usage and Modifier Options columns.

6. Save to complete the settings.
