StoreHub merchants in Malaysia who want to accept DuitNow QR payments through Maybank QRPayBiz on their POS system.

Overview

This guide shows you how to register for Maybank QRPayBiz, set up this payment option in your StoreHub BackOffice, and process DuitNow QR payments on your POS device. It also includes steps for manually approving QR payments if there's an issue. This helps you offer more payment choices to your customers and manage your sales smoothly.


Before You Begin

  • A Maybank current or savings account (required for new registrations from July 1, 2025).

  • The Maybank QRPayBiz app downloaded on your mobile phone.

  • Access to your StoreHub BackOffice.

  • A StoreHub POS device (e.g., iMin Falcon, Sunmi P2 Pro) powered on.

  • A stable internet connection for your POS device and BackOffice.


Step-by-Step Guide

Register for Maybank QR Pay Biz

1. Download the 'Maybank QRPayBiz' app from your phone's app store (Google Play Store or Apple App Store).

2. Open the 'Maybank QRPayBiz' app and tap 'Register'.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your merchant account. This usually involves entering your business details, bank account information, and verifying your identity.

4. Complete the registration process within the app. You will receive a confirmation once your account is set up.

Notes:

  • From July 1, 2025, new registrations require a Maybank MAE or Maybank savings account.

  • Maybank QR Pay payments are handled by Maybank, not StoreHub. Always check your Maybank account or statements to confirm transactions.

Set Up Maybank QR Pay Biz in StoreHub BackOffice

1. In your BackOffice, go to 'Settings' on the left menu, then tap 'Payment Options'.

2. Tap the '+ Add Payment Option' button.

3. In the 'Name' field, type a name for this payment option, for example, 'DuitNow Maybank QR'.

4. In the 'Type' field, select 'QR Code'.

6. In the 'QR Code Type' field, select 'Dynamic QR Code'.

7. In the 'Stores' field, select the stores where you want to accept Maybank QR payments.

8. In the 'Registers' field, select the specific POS registers within those stores that will use this payment option.

9. In the 'Merchant ID Number' field, enter your Maybank Merchant ID Number.

Notes:

  • Your Maybank Merchant ID (MID) is different from your Corporate ID (CID). You can usually find your MID in the Maybank QRPayBiz app or your Maybank merchant portal.

  • If you only see a 'Corporate ID' (CID) in your Maybank QRPayBiz app, please check your Maybank merchant welcome kit or contact Maybank support to find your specific 'Merchant ID' (MID). StoreHub requires the MID to link your account correctly.

10. Tap 'Save' to complete the settings.

11. After saving, make sure to sync your POS register(s) to apply the new settings. On your POS device, go to the side menu, then tap 'Sync'.

Edit an Existing Maybank QR Payment Option

1. In your BackOffice, go to 'Settings' on the left menu, then tap 'Payment Options'.

2. Find the 'DuitNow Maybank QR' payment option you want to edit and tap on the 'edit' button.

3. Make any necessary changes to the 'Name', 'Stores', 'Registers', or 'Merchant ID Number' fields.

4. Tap 'Save' at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.

5. Sync your POS register(s) to update the settings on your devices.

Delete an Existing Maybank QR Payment Option

1. In your BackOffice, go to 'Settings' on the left menu, then tap 'Payment Options'.

2. Find the 'DuitNow Maybank QR' payment option you want to delete and click on the 'delete' button.

3. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

4. Sync your POS register(s) to remove the payment option from your devices.

Process a Payment with Maybank QR Pay Biz on Your POS

1. On your StoreHub POS device, after adding items to the cart, tap the 'total amount' button to go to the payment screen.

2. On the payment screen, tap 'Others'.

3. Select 'DuitNow Maybank QR' (or the name you saved in BackOffice) from the list of payment options.

4. A unique DuitNow QR code will appear on your POS device's main screen.

5. If you have a customer-facing display, the QR code will also show there for your customer to scan with their banking app.

6. Once the customer scans the QR code and completes the payment, the transaction will be marked as completed on your POS.

7. You can view DuitNow sales in your BackOffice under 'Transactions' and in the 'Sales by Payment Method' report.

Troubleshooting

Issue

Solution

QR Payment is stuck or not confirmed, but the customer says they paid.

Manually approve the QR payment.

1. If the QR payment doesn't confirm automatically, first verify with the customer that their payment was successful (e.g., by checking their banking app transaction history).

2. On your StoreHub POS device, while on the QR payment screen, tap the ellipses icon ('...') at the top right of the screen.

3. Tap the 'Approve Manually' button that appears.

4. A pop-up box will ask you to confirm manual approval. Type a short note explaining why you are manually approving the payment (e.g., 'Customer showed bank confirmation').

5. Tap 'Confirm' to proceed. The transaction will now be marked as complete, and you can proceed to print or email the receipt.

6. You can find details of manually approved transactions in your BackOffice 'Offline Transactions' report. Look for the 'Reason for Manual Approval' note you entered.

General Maybank QR payment errors (e.g., connection issues, QR not generating).

1. Clear device cache: On your StoreHub POS device (e.g., iMin Falcon), go to 'Settings', then 'Apps', find the 'StoreHub' app, and tap 'Clear Cache'.

2. Restart StoreHub app and check the internet: Close the StoreHub app completely and reopen it. Ensure your POS device has a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or LAN).

3. Verify Maybank QRPayBiz app status: Check your Maybank QRPayBiz app on your phone to ensure it's active and there are no issues reported by Maybank.


FAQs

1. When will I receive payments made via DuitNow QR?

DuitNow QR payments will be processed immediately by Maybank.

2. What happens if I face an issue with payment?

  • For Payment Disputes:

    • Please settle directly with the customer. If an investigation is needed, contact Maybank customer service at [email protected].

  • For Refunds:

    • To process a refund, first void the transaction in the StoreHub POS to update your records.

IMPORTANT:

  • This does not automatically return money to the customer. You must refund them manually (e.g., with cash).

3. What if payments remain unpaid but customers have already paid?

Confirm the payment in Maybank’s bank account, manually approve the bill using the POS three-dot (⋮) menu option.

4. Are there any charges for using Maybank QRPayBiz?

No, currently there will not be a fee charged for the services.

5. Is it compulsory to have a Maybank account to use Maybank QRPayBiz?

Yes. Following an update from Maybank, effective 1st July 2025, all new QRPayBiz registrations must be linked to a Maybank account.

6. Is the DuitNow feature limited to receiving payments only from Maybank users?

  • No, DuitNow QR code can be used to receive cashless payments from all participating banks & ewallet apps that adopt the DuitNow QR standard.

  • Some of these establishments include Maybank MY, RHB Mobile Banking, HLB Connect Mobile Banking, PB Engage MY, Citibank MY & more.

7. My Maybank QRPayBiz shows a "Corporate ID" (CID). What is this, and where do I find the "Merchant ID" (MID) that StoreHub needs?

Your Maybank "Corporate ID" (CID) is generally an owner-level identifier for your business in the QRPayBiz portal. However, for integration with StoreHub, you need the specific "Merchant ID" (MID) for your payment outlet.

To find your Merchant ID (MID):

  • If you're logged into Maybank QRPayBiz with your Corporate ID (Owner access):

    • Go to Settings.

    • Click on Outlets.

    • Your Merchant ID will be displayed under each Outlet's Name.
