Who Is This For?
StoreHub merchants in the Philippines who sell on their Webstore (online store) and want to accept GCash, card or bank transfer payments.
Overview
Customers in the Philippines can pay on your Webstore by credit card, GCash or bank transfer. This article shows how each method is switched on and how to confirm a bank transfer order. It also shows where to see your payouts (the money StoreHub sends to your bank).
Before You Begin
Your Webstore is set up and published. If not, see How to Set Up Your Webstore in BackOffice.
Your plan must include Webstore (Advanced plan and above). To check or change your plan, go to 'Billing' in BackOffice.
You have a bank account saved in BackOffice under 'Settings', then 'Bank Accounts', so StoreHub can pay out your GCash sales. See How to Receive Your Payouts.
You have admin access to BackOffice.
Step-by-Step Guide
Know Which Payment Methods Your Customers Can Use
Customers can pay by credit card, GCash or bank transfer.
Card payments are switched on store by store. StoreHub switches them on for your store after you are approved. Until then, checkout shows credit card as temporarily unavailable and customers cannot choose it.
Payment options that you add under 'Settings' and 'Payment Options' in BackOffice apply to your POS only, so they do not turn on card payments on your webstore.
Bank transfer is always offered at checkout in the Philippines, and the customer pays offline and uploads proof of payment.
The table below shows, for card and GCash payments on a Philippine Webstore, where the money goes and how each is turned on.
Payment method | Where the money goes | How it is turned on |
Credit card | Paid to you by 2C2P under your own 2C2P account, not through StoreHub's payout | Only for stores StoreHub has set up with 2C2P. Ask your StoreHub account manager to refer you to 2C2P; if you do not have one, ask Care to pass your request to the Onboarding Team |
GCash | StoreHub collects it and sends it to you in your weekly payout | Already on for every Philippine Webstore. Nothing to set up; add a bank account under 'Settings', then 'Bank Accounts' |
Turn On Credit Card Payments
Card payments are not on by default for a Philippine Webstore. StoreHub switches them on for your store once you have an approved account with 2C2P, a payment company. Start early if you expect customers to pay by card, because 2C2P needs your business documents first. Card money is paid to you by 2C2P directly, not through your StoreHub payout.
Ask your StoreHub account manager to refer you to 2C2P. If you do not have one, open live chat with StoreHub Care and ask them to pass your request to the Onboarding Team. Give your business name and your Webstore address.
StoreHub refers you to 2C2P. Reply to the email from 2C2P with the business documents they ask for. 2C2P confirms its charges with you directly.
After 2C2P approves your account, StoreHub sets up and tests card payments for your store. Open your Webstore checkout and check that 'Credit card' is no longer shown as temporarily unavailable.
Set Up Bank Transfer Payments
Bank transfer (also called offline payment or manual bank transfer) is always offered at your Webstore checkout in the Philippines. Add the bank details you want customers to pay to. This is separate from your payout bank account. Without these details, the customer cannot pay. The bank transfer page tells them to pay "to any of the following accounts" and then lists none.
In BackOffice, go to 'Online Orders', then 'Webstore', then 'Webstore Setup'.
Open the 'Offline Payment' tab.
Click 'Add new bank details', enter the 'Bank Name', 'Account Name' and 'Account Number', then click 'Add'. One list covers all your stores.
After a customer chooses bank transfer at checkout, they see your bank details and a page where they upload proof of payment. Tell the customer to keep that page open until the proof is uploaded. When they place the order, the Webstore does not email them your bank details or a link to this page.
Confirm a Bank Transfer Payment
A bank transfer order arrives in BackOffice with the status 'Pending Verification'. 'Pending Verification' means the order waits until you confirm the transfer. Check that the money has reached your bank before you confirm, because confirming marks the order as paid straight away.
In BackOffice, go to 'Online Orders' and open the order with the status 'Pending Verification'.
Check the proof of payment the customer uploaded, and check your bank account for the transfer.
Change the order status to 'New Order'. The order is now marked as paid, and the customer receives an order confirmation email.
Notes:
There is no message asking you to confirm, so check the transfer before you mark it paid.
Do not prepare a bank transfer order until BackOffice shows it as paid. Your POS can list the order under 'New Order' before you confirm it in BackOffice.
You receive an email with the subject "Order [number] pending payment verification" when a customer uploads proof of payment. To choose which order emails you receive, see the email notifications section of How to Set Up Your Webstore in BackOffice.
Check Where Your Money Goes
GCash payments go to StoreHub first, then to your bank account in your weekly payout. Payouts run every Wednesday for the previous Sunday to Saturday. Card payments are paid to you by 2C2P, not by StoreHub, and do not appear in your StoreHub payouts. Bank transfer payments go straight into your own bank account. They are not paid out by StoreHub. Your Payout Summary has an 'Offline Payment Collected' line for money you collected yourself. StoreHub's fee on bank transfer orders is taken out of your payout.
In BackOffice, go to 'Online Orders', then 'Payouts'.
Click a 'Payout ID' to see which orders it covers and the amount sent to your bank.
For what happens to a payout on a public holiday, see How to Receive Your Payouts. If a payout is late or missing, see How to Troubleshoot Missing or Delayed Payouts.
Troubleshooting
The table below covers the 2 problems Philippine merchants raise most with Care about Webstore payments.
Problem | Solution |
My customer paid by GCash, but the money is not in my bank account | This is normal. StoreHub collects GCash payments and sends them to your bank in your weekly payout, the Wednesday after that Sunday to Saturday week. Go to 'Online Orders', then 'Payouts', to see the payout that covers the order. If it is late, see How to Troubleshoot Missing or Delayed Payouts |
A customer says they paid by bank transfer, but the order still shows 'Pending Verification' | Bank transfer orders stay at 'Pending Verification' until you confirm them. Go to 'Online Orders', open the order, check the uploaded proof of payment and your bank account, then change the status to 'New Order' |
FAQs
1. Can my customers pay with GCash on my Webstore?
Yes. GCash is on for every Philippine Webstore. The money comes to you in your weekly payout.
2. Can I add Maya, or link my own GCash account, to the checkout page?
No. The checkout shows only the payment methods StoreHub offers in the Philippines: credit card, GCash and bank transfer. You can take Maya and other e-wallets at your counter with QR Ph on the POS, but not on the Webstore.
3. I already take GCash and cards at my counter. Does that work for my Webstore too?
No. The payment options you add under 'Settings', then 'Payment Options', are for your POS only. GCash is already on for your Webstore, and card payments are set up by StoreHub with 2C2P.
4. A customer paid on my Webstore and now wants a refund. How do I cancel the order?
A paid Webstore order cannot be cancelled or refunded from BackOffice. Refund the customer yourself outside BackOffice, then tell your team not to prepare the order. For the order statuses, see How to Manage and Fulfill Webstore Orders.
