Who Is This For?
All StoreHub merchants who use BackOffice, especially if you export files into Excel or accounting software.
Overview
From 28 Oct 2026, dates across BackOffice follow 1 rule: your business's market and the language you use BackOffice in.
On BackOffice pages, the month is written as a word, such as 28 Sept 2026, so a date can't be read as another day.
In exported files, dates are now written year-month-day by default, such as 2026-09-28 14:05. Before, they looked like 09/28/2026 14:05.
If your software needs another order, you can change the date format of your exports yourself.
The same update changed how times show on the 'Timesheets' page and removed the weekday name from dates in sales report downloads. See Times on the Timesheets Page and Weekday Names in Exported Files.
Before You Begin
Access to 'Settings', then 'Account' in BackOffice.
The date format your accounting software or spreadsheet accepts. Most accept year-month-day.
How Dates Show on BackOffice Pages
Dates on BackOffice pages show the month as a word, in your language. In English, the Philippines shows the month first (Aug 20, 2026) and other markets show the day first (20 Aug 2026). When you type a date, follow the order shown in the date box. Calendars now start the week on Monday.
To change the language you use BackOffice in, click your name at the top right, then 'My Profile', then 'Language Preference'.
Times on the Timesheets Page
Since the 28 Oct 2026 update, the 'Time In' and 'Time Out' times on the 'Timesheets' page show the month as a word and, in English, a 12-hour clock, such as 21 Sept 2026, 5:30 pm. Before, they showed 24-hour time, such as 09/21/2026 17:30.
The 'Day' column still shows the weekday of each shift, such as Monday.
'Date format in exported files' changes only your exported files, not the dates and times on BackOffice pages.
For how to view, edit and export shifts, see How to View and Manage Employee Timesheets.
Dates in Exported Files
Dates in exported CSV files are now written year-month-day by default, such as 2026-09-28 14:05. Before, they looked like 09/28/2026 14:05.
Excel reads year-month-day correctly on every computer. Before, it often misread month-first dates, such as 10 September as 9 October.
Tip
To put the weekday beside each date, add a column in Google Sheets with the formula =IF(A2="","",TEXT(A2,"dddd")). Change A2 to your first date cell, then copy the formula down. For timesheets, select 'Include detailed clock-in/clock-out time' when you export, so the file has dates.
For a few weeks, export pages show a notice about this change. Click 'Learn more' to open this article, or 'Change date format' to go straight to the setting.
Note: The notice shows only if your business has never changed this format. Closing it hides it for you in that browser.
Most exports use the new format, including exports sent by email or on a schedule. These files keep their own format:
'Sales Data Export' for AutoCount and SQL Account
The QuickBooks Online 'Products not found' file
BIR reports and the BIR backup
The 'Birthday' column in the customers export
Also new in exported files:
File names use year-month-day, such as Transactions_2026-09-01_2026-09-30.csv. Sales report file names also end with the time zone (UTC+0800).
Sales reports grouped by week or month have new 'Period Start' and 'Period End' columns.
Weekday Names in Exported Files
Before the update, a timesheet export with 'Include detailed clock-in/clock-out time' selected showed the weekday in the 'Time In' and 'Time Out' columns, such as 09/28/2026 Monday 14:05.
Since the update, a sales report grouped by 'Daily' still shows the weekday beside each date on the page, but the file you download writes the date only, without the weekday name.
To compare sales by weekday, open 'Sales over time', click 'Group by' and choose 'Day of week', then click 'Download'. The file keeps the weekday.
For more on grouping and downloading reports, see How to Filter, Group, and Export Reports.
Change the Date Format of Your Exports
Change the format if your accounting software or spreadsheet only accepts day/month/year or month/day/year. It applies to most exports, including emailed and scheduled ones, but not to dates on BackOffice pages.
1. In BackOffice, go to 'Settings', then 'Account', and scroll down to 'Exports'.
You can also click 'Change date format' in the notice on any export page.
2. Click 'Date format in exported files' and choose a format:
2026-09-28 (year-month-day, recommended)
28/09/2026 (day/month/year)
09/28/2026 (month/day/year, as most exports used before)
3. Click 'Save' at the top right.
Notes:
If you pick day/month/year or month/day/year and it isn't your market's usual order, a warning shows that Excel may misread the dates. If that happens, switch back to year-month-day, or download the .xlsx file where the export offers one (such as sales reports).
Choosing 09/28/2026 brings back the old dates in most exports. A few columns still look different, such as timesheet times and the payout period.
Only employees with access to 'Settings', then 'Account' can change this. If you don't have access, ask the business owner or a manager.
Import Customer and Member Dates
Customer imports (on the 'Customers' page) and member imports ('Migrate Member Info' on the 'Membership' page) now take .csv or .xlsx files. Write dates year-month-day, such as 2026-09-28.
