Updated over a year ago

What You Will Learn In This Guide

  • Adjust settings on POS Register to control restriction of outgoing sales when item quantity is zero.

Important Note

  • Ensure that your POS Register is connected to the internet.

What is this setting about?

To restrict outgoing sales on the POS register when an item’s stock reaches zero, you’ll need to adjust the setting directly on the POS register.

This feature can benefit your business by aligning with operational needs, setting the right expectations for customers, and alert cashiers when an item is out-of-stock.

Enabling/Disabling Settings in POS Register

1. On the POS register, look for General settings and scroll to the bottom. Toggle off Allow Sales When Product Quantity is 0 or Less.

2. A pop up will appear as a warning, click on Yes, disable it to proceed.

3. Once the setting is disabled, the POS register will block transactions involving items that are out of stock, preventing completion if the item’s stock level is zero.

Note:

  • If the setting is enabled, the transaction will proceed, but the stock level will reflect a negative value.

  • If a cashier attempts to modify the settings, a Manager PIN will be required to authorize the changes.

POS Register Offline

If your POS is offline with this setting disabled, there are 3 ways to address the situation.

1. Reconnect your POS register to the network.

a. Check that your POS is connected to the internet.

2. Temporary Allow Selling.

a. On the offline POS Register, an error message will appear, prompting you to tap on Temporarily Allow Selling.

b. Enter Manager's PIN.

c. Next, choose your preferred option then tap on Confirm.

Note: Be sure to sync your POS device once it's back online; this will help update the stock levels.

3. Toggle on Allow Sales When Product Quantity is 0 is less.

a. Once your POS Register is back online, you can disable the setting in the same location.
