Only your products will remain in your BackOffice.
Z-Reading Report
Known as an End of Day report; it’s meant to give you a summary of the day for all transactions performed on a register. Ideally, you should only have 1 Z-reading report for each day. The Z count refers to the sequential number of the Z-reading taken on a register. Each Z-reading represents a summary of transactions within its coverage period, incrementing the Z count by one per closure. This count is included in POS Monthly Reports and serves as a key reference for maintaining transaction continuity and daily reporting.
Running multiple shifts in a day? Read this to learn more about the Shift feature. The Z count is directly affected by shift closures, ensuring sequential tracking of end-of-day summaries across shifts. For detailed reporting during multi-shift operations, aligning Z counts with shift transitions can improve accuracy.
Generate Z-Reading Report
Z-reading can only be generated on POS register.
Tap on the side menu button on top left.
Go to ‘Sales Report.
Tap on the ellipsis "(...)" on top right, and tap ‘Close Z-Reading’ from the menu.
Once done, you will see a successful prompt. A Z-reading has been generated successfully.
Note: Close Z-Reading can only be completed when there’s an internet connection.
Best practises to follow:
Always close Z-reading at the end of the business operation to ensure it is reporting the summary of the entire day.
If you’re looking at reporting by shift, you’re recommended to use the Shift feature instead.
If you operate in a location where you’re required to upload sales report to the management (e.g. shopping mall, airport), always close Z-reading at the end of business operation even when there’s no sales transaction on a given POS Register
Addressing Z Count Discrepancies
Z-reading totals can sometimes differ from offline transaction summaries due to varying reporting periods. For instance, a Z-reading spanning over two calendar days will include transactions from both days. To minimize such discrepancies:
Align Z-reading closures with the end of your business day (e.g., close Z-reading before midnight).
Use the Z-reading total for reconciliation as it accurately reflects all transactions within its coverage period.
Compare start and end transaction details in Z reports with offline summaries to identify mismatches.
