Track Ingredients Usage on Coffee
1. Create a new product (Coffee), set the selling price & track under Composite Inventory Type.
Note: Select Save before you proceed to next step. The component table appears upon saving.
2. Add components and link to the Coffee product.
Example:
For this case, we are tracking coffee beans & milk. Add Coffee Beans & Milk into the component list.
3. Set Default Usage. Default usage refers to the quantity of ingredients needed for a cup of coffee.
Example:
To make a cup of coffee, we need:
0.01 KG of Coffee Beans
0.2 L of Milk
With every sale of a coffee, 0.01 KG of Coffee Beans & 0.2 L of Milk will be deducted from the ingredient product respectively.
4. Save to complete the settings.
Notes:
Your default usage does not necessarily have to be a whole number.
For example, if you purchase your coffee beans in packets, each cup of your coffee can have a default usage of 0.01 of the packet. Do take note that you can only set up to 3 decimal points!
When you sell 1 cup of coffee, this is how it will reflect in the BackOffice for those ingredients you tracked.
