What You Will Learn In This Guide

  • How to ensure your cash drawer is properly connected, and how to use the cash drawer key to open it.

Troubleshooting the Cash Drawer

1. Make sure the RJ-11 cable is connected to your printer/Android device.

2. Use the key that came with the cash drawer and ensure the key is placed in a 12 o'clock position. You can remove the key afterwards.

Notes:

  • Turning the key to 9 o'clock (left) will open the drawer.

  • Turning the key to 12 o'clock (middle) will put the drawer on standby, ready to pop open when the printer prints the receipt. This is the position you should leave it in.

  • Turning the key to 3 o'clock (right) will lock the drawer.

3. Next step is to perform a test transaction.

4. Go to the StoreHub POS app, then tap Settings

5. Tap Printer, then Search Printer; and wait a few seconds for your printers to appear.

6. Tap on the desired printer and toggle ON Receipt.

7. Next, perform a mock transaction.

8. If it still does not pop open, please check if:

  • the cash drawer has obstructions or is jammed inside or out.

  • the cash drawer cable is loose, faulty, or is a different cable.
