BackOffice: Dashboard Sales Comparisons

Understand how sales data is compared on your BackOffice dashboard for "Today", "This Week", and "This Month".

Updated over 9 months ago

What You Will Learn in This Guide

  • How "Today" sales comparisons are calculated.

  • How "This Week" sales comparisons are calculated.

  • How "This Month" sales comparisons are calculated.

  • Why these updated comparisons give you more accurate insights.

Important Note

  • The main change is that sales periods are now compared like-for-like. This gives you a fairer and more accurate view of your performance.

    • For example, sales from "Today" up to the current time are compared against sales from "Yesterday" up to the exact same time.

How Your Dashboard Sales Comparisons Work Now

When you look at your sales on the dashboard, here’s how the comparisons for different periods are calculated:

Today

  • Current Period: Sales from today (midnight 00:00 to the current time).

  • Compared Against: Sales from yesterday (midnight 00:00 to the exact same current time as today).

Example:

  • If it is 2:00 PM now, today's sales from 00:00 - 2:00 PM are compared with yesterday's sales from 00:00 - 2:00 PM.

This Week

  • Current Period: Sales from the start of this week (Sunday at midnight 00:00) up to the current day and time.

  • Compared Against: Sales from last week (Sunday at midnight 00:00 up to the same day and time as the current moment this week).

Example:

  • If it is Tuesday 3:00 PM now, sales from this week (Sunday 00:00 to Tuesday 3:00 PM) are compared with sales from last week (Sunday 00:00 to the previous Tuesday 3:00 PM).

This Month

  • Current Period: Sales from the 1st of this month (at midnight 00:00) up to the current date and time.

  • Compared Against: Sales from the 1st of last month (at midnight 00:00) up to the same date and time in that previous month.

Example:

  • If it is May 10th at 11:00 AM, sales from May 1st to May 10th at 11:00 AM are compared with sales from April 1st to April 10th at 11:00 AM.
